Wandering Moose (a working title) was developed for the Oculus Go, and sort-of works on more advanced VR systems. I'm sharing "as is". There are performance issues, and the moose's calf isn't spawning quite right. Kind of a fun experiment.
Why I made it:
- I'm fascinated by procedural generation, so I wanted to explore generating landforms and populating it with a navigable forest, with boundaries. I'm pleased with the result! Every time you play it'll be a new map.
- Can navigation in VR work without too much sim-sickness riding on an animal? I thought moose would be a good option, because its antlers would help give the eyes something more stationary as the world moves around them. Does it work for you?
Instructions to play:
To move, touch Oculus Go touchpad in the direction you'd like your moose to walk. i.e. touch north to go forward, west to go left, etc. Click the touchpad to trot/run.
